I have a privileged life & no complaints but as a Jewish person with a Spanish name I’ve had a lot of “anxiety” sent my way this year. It’s dangerous to sugarcoat what’s going on out there or try to coopt it into your pet political agenda. A normal campaign would disavow an army of twitter nazis acting as self-proclaimed surrogates out of either decency or fear of losing. To the extent Trump succeeds in getting votes, it says that neither decency nor caution need restrain ones embrace of this stuff.
